Last night we met virtually and the meeting lasted a little over a half an hour. Â
First we went though the agenda:
Welcome -April 10
Trademark Update
NIH- Review
Podcast
The first item on the agenda was to welcome everyone, I wanted to acknowledge that the timing of this meeting was not great. I wanted to have a meeting in the second quarter, but I travel to my parents next week but I understand that a lot of people are either going on SpringBreak, Just returned the easter weekend is approaching and the end of the school year. Thanks if you were able to join if not I totally understand.
I talked about the trademark kerfuffle - and showed the new one and the old oneÂ
This time we are going through an attorney and he mentioned that if we submit in BLACK we are covered for all colors, Â

The next thing we talked about was the NIH Grant review I was a part of in the month of March, we talked about my character flaw and how I behaved as well the number of reviews and reviewers and that I only read 3 reviews. This process made me question the value of doing these grants in future and I will definitely not participate in a review it was a Huge time taker and although I learned a great deal. I don’t think there is more to learn. Â
I spoke about the podcasts that have been released in the first quarter and all three were solely about the business and the UPMO. Â

These podcast interviews increased the global exposure. The Buswell Biomedical website has had visitors from a countries like Libya,India, China, Germany, France, Ukraine, and Russia
, I gave an update on startups.com and how this is the first time I have gotten input from people who have raised VC investment. I put a lot of work into making the pitch deck a teaser deck, that can will be understood when emailed and is super brief. Â
We talked about the Pre-SEED funding round and Equity Crowd Funding. The plan is to go for 600K in Pre-Seed funding and 500K in Equity Crowd Funding,
Josh NÂ asked how much equity we were giving up and I told him that in the Pre-Seed round I plan to give up 15%. Â
We discussed how this will effect out evaluation. The simple calculation for our valuation is simple .15=Pre-Seed raise/valuation or what we raise is going to be equal to 15% of the total value. Â
Jermaine S. asked if I overlook small details about basic items regarding UPMO.
Sheila B Yes, I tend to jump into details before explaining the basics. I am learning and growing able to simply complex topics. Â
Jackie H Having Feedback during podcasts may provide clues about what you haven’t explained adequately.
Jackie HÂ What type of health Care Professionals are we lacking on the team or for input. Â
Sheila B. We would take input from any healthcare worker, but specifically we are trying to get feedback from Physical Therapists. Â
We talked about SLU I CORP and that as part of that program I talked to about 50 nurses, and initially they all seemed to complain about the Paperwork.  When I dug deeper the paperwork was needed legally but the Healthcare Workers didn’t see the value they were trained to care for people. IN essence they would prefer to help people to the bathroom then do paperwork. Â
Erica P.  - As a Therapist I appreciate and PTs appreciate when the patient moves the independence it gives patients the ability to stuff by themselves.
Jackie H. Pony Bird a Jefferson County home has numerous patients with mobility issues. It might be a good source of information. Â
Sheila B Yes Thank You
The meeting lasted until 741 CST PM. Â
